Jaguar XKE The E type made its Debut in March of 1961 at the Geneva Auto show,. It was an instant hit. Possibly regarded as the most sought after superceded model in the world today as well as being the most instantly recognizable sports cars of all time. High performance and low sleek curvaceous lines, with a variety of power packs from the original 3.8 litre up to a later introduction with the 5.3 litre V12. - (1971 V12 engine developed by Walter Hassan.) When introduced (3.8 litre 5 cylinder) This Classic car boasted top speed of 150 mph and a price tag of only £2,097 Believing that aerodynamic efficiency was of the utmost importance to a car, Malcolm Sayer (1916-1970), a gifted engineer with wind tunnel experience from the aircraft Industry was employed and the E type design was solidly based on mathematical principles. |
